As BC and Canada move towards our net-zero goals, one of the major issues in achieving these goals is cost prohibitive older technology that isn’t financially feasible for many projects, including biogas facilities that continue to flare their gases instead of upgrading to Renewable Natural Gas (RNG). The flared biogas increases GHG emissions due to the methane release.
Hydron Energy’s Intensified Regenerative Upgrading Platform Technology (INTRUPTor™) system is a disruptive solution that converts raw gases into clean refined fuel. The compact system will provide significant cost savings over conventional gas-upgrading technologies.
This NorthX-funded project will scale up, build, and deploy Hydron’s system at the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Prince George, BC and will lower GHG emissions by upgrading the biogas to RNG instead of flaring it.
